My little spotted siamese pups may look gray at first glance, but they are actually the same color as their mother. I took these so it would be easier to see that. Also, they will get their dark color points after they molt, so their tails, ears and noses (if not covered by their spots) will turn dark like their mothers. Their feet will not though, because spotted gerbils have white feet to match their spots.
If you’re wondering, yes, River has developed a “ghost spot” on her back that is a shade darker. Just within the last two weeks it’s shown up. Not sure if it’s permanent or what, but I don’t mind it. 🙂
