Please contact me for details and pictures! Need to find homes for these babies asap! 🙂
The difference between “friendly” and “very friendly” is just how quickly they are to approach you and hop into your hand. Some of my Agouti’s are a bit closer to their wild relatives in temperament, they’re just as sweet, just take a bit more time before they want to climb in your hand. 🙂

Amy & Rory had their first litter last night between 9pm and midnight! Six healthy little beans! Very squeaky and bean-like! She’s being a very attentive mother and isn’t allowing me to take very good pictures of them, but I’ll share what I managed to get thus far:
Can’t see in the nest very well, but they’re all there!
One of the lighter skinned pups.
Already, just hours old, about half of the litter is much darker skinned! Hoping those will be dark burmese like their lovely mother. I’m expecting it to be half and half spot wise as well, since only one parent is spotted. But we will see as time progresses. So thrilled to see such a big, healthy litter!
The other pups are doing wonderfully, very mobile and precious. I will post a video later of them wandering around their tank.
The cutest thing in the world is watching a little baby gerbil try and chew on something. Oh my word. They are the sweetest.

Alright, here is how I am telling these three little ones apart.
Top pup has a round spot with a thick blaze back toward the neck. No connection between the spot and the nose.
Middle pup has a blaze from nose tip to neck, with a round spot in the center.
Bottom pup has a round spot with a narrow blaze back to the neck.
Using this handy pup guide, you should now (sort of) be able to see the difference. haha
The black pup is slightly smaller than the others, but no less adorable!!
Did you see that belly?! SO CUTE.
Don’t worry, brown baby is fine! She will be in her own separate post.

I’m hoping to keep the brown spotted pup, who I am thinking will be a spotted burmese. They are all looking as if they are female. If so, the brown spotted girl will be paired with Henry, and Oliver will be rehomed.

One little pup has shown it’s colors, looks like it will be a lot like Daddy! The rest will most likely be more like their mother, but we won’t know for sure until they get their fur.

I have affectionately decided that the pups are in the “Squeaky Bean” stage of life. I think that is a very accurate description.
So far all the pups seem very happy and healthy, and though they are slightly different sizes, I can’t identify a “runt”, so that’s good. I’m concerned about one, who seems like it may have gotten a claw to the face and rump by mistake from one of his/her parents. He/she has a tiny scab on his/her cheek and one that I’m concerned may cause him/her to have trouble using the bathroom. River cleans them all very well so hopefully she will clear away that spot gently when she needs to. He/She’s far too small for my big human fingers to do any good with that, haha.
Amazingly, they already look like they’ve grown! I was at work from 8am-4pm today and when I got home they seemed larger. Fascinating how they grow.
Here are some pictures I took this evening! 🙂 They are of two different pups, one which may have lighter eyes than the rest, but refused to face the camera. Little rascal!
Can’t wait until I have little fuzzy crawlers on my hands!! They are absolutely precious when they get their peach fuzz. ^_^ Hard to imagine these little ones will be scampering around like crazy in no time!
In other news, my registrations came back today for all my breeders! Now they have official pedigrees and if ever I sell a pup to a breeder, they will be able to better trace back the lineage of their pups. Doesn’t mean a lot to the average adopter, but it’s a great thing to have.
Last night River and The Doctor were hard to work on their next litter. I think it’s safe to say she is pregnant with her second litter now. Crazy how they do that.
POTENTIAL ADOPTERS:
Two pups of this litter (not yet known which two) are spoken for, but that leaves three available pups who will be ready to venture to their new homes around May 18th. If you are interested in them, please contact me!

Five healthy gerbil pups were born last night! They are much bigger than I had expected, all peeping and squirming and being adorable. ^_^ River Song is being a very good Momma and when The Doctor “stole” a pup, she went and retrieved it right away and tucked it back in with the others. So excited! Can’t wait to see who will have spots!
Also, I think it’s great that I literally cleaned their tank YESTERDAY. So these pups were born on the freshest bedding possible. That makes me extremely happy. And it’s much easier to see them on this white bedding. Success.
